HIGHLIGHTS: Fort Cochin, Kathakali dance show, tea estate visit at Munnar, boating at Thekkady to see wild animals, plantation visit, bird sanctuary visit at Kumarakom, Kumarakom village tour, houseboat cruise and ayurveda massage.

DAY 1 – COCHIN:  Greeted on arrival at Kochi Airport, and transfer to your hotel.  Evening, watch Kathakali show at Cochin.  Overnight at Cochin.

DAY 2 – COCHIN:  Sightseeing in old Fort Cochin, a city colonized by every European country from the 16th century. Visit a Jewish synagogue, a Dutch palace, St. Thomas Church, St. Mary's Cathedral, Chinese fish nets and Bolghaty palace.  Overnight at Cochin.

DAY 3 – MUNNAR:  Morning journey to Munnar (4 hrs/130km), the tea plantation area of Kerala, breathing in the fresh air at this altitude. On the way, visit the Cheeyappara Waterfalls. Check into your hotel by noon.  Overnight at Munnar.

DAY 4 – MUNNAR:  Sightseeing, visiting Mattupetty, Echo Point, Kundal Dam, yea plantations and Eravikulam National Park.  Great walking, and a village market.  Overnight at Munnar. 

DAY 5 – THEKKADY:  Morning journey to Thekkady (Periyar) - the Spice Hills (3hrs/110km).  Check into your hotel by noon.  Afternoon sightseeing, visiting tea, coffee and cardamom plantations.  Overnight at Thekkady.

DAY 6 – THEKKADY:  Morning boating through Periyar Lake wildlife sanctuary, visiting spice villages.  Relax and enjoy the swimming pool at the resort.  Overnight at Thekkady.

DAY 7 – KUMARAKOM:  Morning journey to Kumarakom, a paradise in the Kerala backwaters. Check into your resort by noon.  Walking, biking and relaxing are available.  Evening, visit Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary to see wild birds including kingfishers, drongos and egrets.  Overnight at Kumarakom.

DAY 8 – KUMARAKOM:  Morning village tour to see coir making, visit farm, village walk and demonstration on toddy tapping, and fishing with nets.  Overnight at Kumarakom

DAY 9 – HOUSEBOAT:  Morning journey to Alleppey.  Check into your luxury, air-conditioned houseboat.  Backwater cruise through paddy fields, tropical coconut lagoons, narrow canals and coir villages to Alleppey.  Overnight on houseboat.

DAY 10 – KOVALAM:  Morning journey to Kovalam beach, the global village beach resort where everything is available and laid-back.  Check into your hotel at Kovalam.  Overnight at Kovalam.

DAY 11 & 12 – KOVALAM:  At leisure on the beach.  Shopping and sun.  Overnight at Kovalam.

DAY 13 – KOVALAM/KANYAKUMARI:  Morning journey to Kanyakumari.  En route, visit Padmanabhapuram Palace, Vivekananda Rock and Sucheendram Temple. Evening after sunset, drive back to Kovalam.  Overnight at Kovalam.

DAY 14 – DEPARTURE:  Morning, it's time to bid farewell. Transfer to Trivandrum Airport.
