Mumbai arrival day - Airport pickup and transfer to hotel
Day 02 -28 Jan - Mumbai Orientation and city walking tour to the Gateway of India. Afternoon tour the sights of the busiest and most exuberant city in India.
Day 03 -29 Jan - Aurangabad Fly to Aurangabad. Afternoon city tour, Bibi Ka Maqaba (mini Taj)
Day 04 -30 Jan - Aurangabad Visit the World Heritage site of Ellora, famous for its cave temples and the magnificent Kailasa temple. Climb and see the views from Daulatabad Fort.
Day 05 -31 Jan - Bijapur Day drive south to the Islamic city of Bijapur in Kanataka. Hotel check in.
Day 06 -01 Jan - Bijapur Visit the massive Golgumbas site, Ibrahim Rauza mausoleum, main mosque and city tour.
Day 07 -02 Feb – Hospet/Hampi Drive to Badami, village life of central India visited. Ancient temples around the huge water tank make this small town spectacular. Afternoon we arrive at our hotel in Hospet. Overnight at Malligi Tourist Hotel.
Day 08 -03 Feb – Hospet/Hampi Set amid a spectacular boulder strewn landscape, the capital of the Vijayanagar kingdom, Hampi is full of delightful surprises. In the 13th century, the markets here overflowed with luxuriant silks, brilliant diamonds. Today, Hampi bazaar and the massive ruins attract internationals and hippies alike. People are drawn back again and again to this magical place.
Day 09 -04 Feb - Chitradurga Dramatically positioned at the base of a rugged chain of hills. It is a past outpost of the Vijayanagar Empire, boosting a huge fort, defined by walls of massive granite blocks rising above the town. The Kallina Kote (Palace of Stone) fort, Is a marvel of military Architecture.
Day 10 -05 Feb - Hassan A convenient base to visit the magnificent temples at Halebid and Belur. Intricately carved Hoysala temples on a huge scale. Here we also visit a typical rural Indian village.
Day 11 -06 Feb- Mysore Morning drive to Sravanabelagola, a Jain pilgrimage site and home do the world’s tallest monolithic statue. Climb 480 steps to the world famous Jain site situated on top of a giant boulder. Afternoon visit to the flower market and palace in Mysore. India’s most tourist friendly city.
Day 12 -07Feb – Mysore Famed for its silk, sandalwood, oils and incense. Wander the old city in search of Aromatherapy oils or hand rolled Bedis. The tour includes a visit to Mysore Palace and Chamundi Hill to visit the Sri Chamnundeswari Temple. From Mysore we take a half day trip to Somnathpur and the Keshava Temple and its superb sculptures
Day 13 -08 Feb – Bangalore A very cosmopolitan city full of parks and green spaces, people watching and culture. Bangalore’s MG Road is has shops, cinemas and restaurants, and glitzy watering holes. This is the place to be if you are an up and coming cyber executive. Dinner and evening walk around the big city lights.
Day 14 - 09th Feb - Cochin Fly to Cochin and transfer to Hotel. Afternoon we go sightseeing in the old Cochin. Visit St Francis Church, the oldest Church in India, 500 year old Portuguese Houses, Cantilevered Chinese fishing nets,16th century Synagogue, Jew Town and Mattancherry Palace, built by Portuguese, this Palace contains some of India’s most beautiful murals. Evening shopping destination. Overnight at Hotel Koder House - Junior Suite
Day 15 - 10th Feb - Kumarakom Morning proceed to Kumarakom which has panoramic backwater stretches, lush paddy fields, highlands and extensive rubber plantations. On arrival check in to a beautiful backwater Resort. Rest of the day free to relax in the Resort and stay overnight at Backwater Ripples - Garden View Room
Day 16 - 11th Feb - Houseboat After breakfast we check into a traditional House Boat of Kerala Style (Kettuvallam) and cruise through the backwaters and stay overnight on the Houseboat - Deluxe A/c
Day 17 - 12th Feb - - Kanyakumari Drive to Kanyakumari, on the way we visit Padmanabhapuram palace and sucheendram Temple. Afternoon reach Kanyakumari, the southern most tip of peninsular India, the confluence of three seas; Kanyakumari is a beautiful blend of sun and mystic Hinduism. We visit Swami Vivekananda Roak memorial, Thiruvalluvar statue (133 ft) and Kanyakumari Temple and overnight stay at Seaview Hotel - Seaview Room
Day 18 - 13th Feb - Kovalam Today morning after breakfast drive to Kovalam beach. Arrival check in to the beach Resort. Kovalam is a global village for sunbathing, shopping and eating. Overnight at Uday Samudra Beach Resort - Exotica Double Room
Day 19 - 14th Feb - Kovalam Full day relax in the beach and stay overnight at Uday Samudra Beach Resort - Exotica Double Room
Day 20 - 15th Feb - Cochin Morning drive to Cochin. On arrival check in to the hotel. Rest and relaxation in preparation for the journey home and overnight at The Travancore Court
Day 21 - 16th Feb - Departure transfer for Mumbai Today after breakfast departure transfer to Cochin Airport. Fly to Mumbai, and board evening flight departures.
